What is Ignite Summer Camp?

Ignite is a day camp located in Madison, Wisconsin for all kids entering 3rd through 7th grade. While other countries value and highlight empathy & gratitude based programming in their schools, the United States is slow to catch up. Studies show that practicing gratitude can actually make people feel happier. Our kids are engulfed in screens and technology, but are losing the basic abilities to connect and communicate. We created Ignite to balance children’s lives. We wanted to create a spark again, and awaken our campers up to a world of opportunity and self love. This is where your children come to recharge after a year of stress. We will teach them how to be mindful, how to be in tune with their surroundings, and how media influence their behaviors.

Each camp session is geared towards learning about one of our emotional touchstones (Gratitude, Empathy, Communication, Movement Building). These topics will be explored through fun projects like creating a podcast, drum circles, live looping and music workshops, and other creative arts projects. We will explore a variety of diffferent spaces downtown, using our powers of navigation to explore our community. Afternoons are spent allowing your child to choose the activity of their choice in either STEM, Creative Arts, or Outdoor Team Games. Each week, campers will take an excursion to either kayaking, stand up paddling, rock climbing, or bowling. All of our activities are put in the curriculum with intention, and are meant to inspire discussion, inner reflection, and increase growth mindset.

Camp Information:

There are 8 individual camp sessions. Each are listed below with dates and details. Camp sessions are Monday - Friday. We start promptly at 8:00am and end at 4:30pm. An aftercare program is available until 5:45pm for an additional fee. If your child(ren) are not picked up by 4:40pm (5:55 for aftercare), you will be charged a Late Pick Up Fee of $5 per 10-minute increment, per child. Late Pick Up Fees must be paid by drop off the following business day with cash or check.

Cost & Cancellation Policy:

The Early Bird Rate is $140 per camp until April 1, 2020. After April 1, 2020, each camp session is $165 per week.

Aftercare for additional care from 4:30 to 5:45 PM is an additional $25 per week.

Meals & Snacks :

Campers must bring their own morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack. CAMP IS A NUT FREE ZONE.

Location & Check-in :

We are located in downtown Madison, Wisconsin, with convenient curb-side drop off and pick up at 101 N. Carroll Street. Camp Staff will be present from 8:00-8:30am and 4:00-4:30pm, and will sign your child(ren) in and out at your car. State issued Identification is required for pick up/drop off.
