I’m Ru , MSW, LCSW. I founded Luma Via to be a place where healing feels real, human, and rooted in connection. Less circling, more change.

Who Finds a Good Fit Here

I work with people who carry a lot on their shoulders: people who lead, support others, and keep things functioning even when they’re running on empty. On the outside, they often seem composed, capable, and in control. But beneath that surface, there’s often anxiety, exhaustion, numbness, or a quiet sense that something just isn’t right.

  • My clients are often people who carry the weight of unresolved trauma while still trying to hold everything together in their daily lives.

  • Many are parents who juggle the endless demands of work, caregiving, and family while quietly struggling under the surface.

  • Some are professionals who feel burned out by executive pressures or career stress, others are caregivers managing both their own needs and the needs of everyone around them.

  • I also work with those navigating the very real impact of racialized stress.

  • I work with couples who are navigating trust repair, communication struggles, and challenges with emotional regulation. To learn more about my approach to couples therapy, please click HERE.

  • In my coaching services, parents come to me seeking steadiness in the middle of co-parenting challenges. For more info on co-parenting planning sessions please click HERE.

The Path We Create Together

In our work together, there is no expectation to hold it all together. I do not offer formulas or scripts. I offer space that is real, grounded, and fully attuned to you. You can show up tired, silent, overwhelmed, uncertain, or unsure. You can cry, swear, laugh, go quiet, or say you do not know. There is no performance here. Just space for you to be fully yourself and to be met with warmth, honesty, and curiosity.

We begin by telling the truth about what is working and what is not and building trust in our relationship. We explore all of you: emotionally, physically, and relationally. This might mean exploring how your nervous system responds to stress, noticing the old patterns that still show up, or looking at how certain dynamics are draining your energy and sense of self. Together, we will find what actually supports you in the rhythm of your real life; not some perfect or idealized version of it.

Methods and Approaches I Use

I draw from evidence-based methods to help people feel more grounded, more in control, and more connected to themselves. It’s not just about understanding what’s wrong, it’s about building what works. That includes:

  • Exploring how your thoughts shape your emotions and actions (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)

  • Helping you work through stuck patterns and past experiences (EMDR, Coherence therapy, and Internal Family Systems)

  • Tuning into how stress and emotion show up in your body (Somatic Experiencing)

  • Looking at how food and lifestyle can impact your mood and energy (Nutritional Psychiatry)

  • Using our therapeutic relationship as a tool to foster changes in how you perceive yourself and react.

Everything we do is focused on creating real change that feels doable and lasting.

Many of my clients are used to pushing through. They are high-functioning and deeply capable, but they are tired of feeling like they are barely holding it together.

If you are ready to stop carrying it all alone and want to do the deeper work, I’ll meet you with  clarity, respect, and bit of laughter mixed in.  You do not have to be perfect here.  We welcome it all with curiosity, not judgment.

You are not broken.

You are not behind.

You are human. And you do not have to figure this out alone.

When I am not in session, I am singing in an indie pop band, planning my next family cross country adventure, or diving into new ways to support emotional healing. I believe in creativity as a healing space. I am always learning, always growing, and always grateful for the people who trust me to walk beside them.
