Luma Via is a CCS-focused mental health clinic serving Madison, and the greater Dane County area. We currently have openings in Service Facilitation, Individual Skills Development, Individual and Family Psychoeducation, and Psychotherapy, including individual, couples, and family therapy.

We also offer specialized group programming in trauma, parenting and caregiver coaching, social skills and anxiety management and more!

Our clinicians can meet clients anywhere throughout Dane County or at our Monona office (see the video below). We also offer telehealth services across Wisconsin, allowing for flexible, real-life support that meets you where you are. We pride ourselves on making care accessible, personalized, and grounded in your day-to-day needs.

We intentionally created a space that feels cozy, calm, and safe. More than that, we’ve built an environment that is truly judgment-free, rooted in respect, and centered on collaboration. At Luma Via, putting clients first is not just a value, it’s how we work every day.

Skills Development

At Luma Via, skill development is not just about getting through the day. It is about building a life that feels meaningful again. Through Comprehensive Community Services (CCS), we help individuals strengthen real-world skills like emotional regulation, communication, daily routines, and navigating work, school, and community life. We meet clients where they are and support them in applying these skills in real, everyday situations. What sets us apart is our focus beyond the basics. We are not just checking boxes or teaching surface-level coping. We help clients reconnect with themselves, rebuild confidence, and begin moving toward a life that feels purposeful.

This work is about more than stability. It is about momentum. It is about possibility. It is about learning how to dream again and having the support to take meaningful steps forward.

• create structure and routines that turn chaotic days into manageable, predictable ones
• build real confidence in handling anxiety, stress, and overwhelming emotions in everyday life
• strengthen communication so clients can express themselves clearly, set boundaries, and feel heard
• develop focus, organization, and follow-through so goals stop feeling out of reach
• help clients re-enter the world, from leaving the house to engaging in community and social life
• practice real-life interactions to reduce social anxiety and increase connection
• support meaningful steps toward work, school, and future goals with hands-on guidance
• simplify complex systems like healthcare, benefits, and resources so clients feel empowered, not stuck
• build independence with practical life skills that translate directly into daily success
• create personalized strategies that actually work outside of sessions, not just in theory
• gently push past avoidance by building tolerance and confidence in difficult situations
• turn big, overwhelming goals into clear, achievable action steps
• provide consistent support and accountability so progress doesn’t stall
• reconnect clients with their strengths, identity, and what actually matters to them
• help clients move from feeling stuck to building momentum and direction in their lives

Psychotherapy

At Luma Via, psychotherapy is grounded in a clear promise: we do not offer surface-level care or passive, endless sessions. Our clinicians are engaged and curious. They also know that you are the expert of your own life.

The Luma Via pledge is that every client will be met with depth, honesty, and forward movement. Treatment plans are collaborative and regularly updated. We combine insight with action, helping clients understand the roots of their struggles while actively building the skills and patterns needed to change them. We stay engaged, collaborative, and intentional, ensuring therapy does not become stagnant or purely reflective. Our work is to help clients move out of cycles of survival and into a life that feels purposeful, connected, and self-directed. This means we challenge when needed, support consistently, and remain fully invested in helping each person create real, lasting change.

Individual & Family Psychoeducation

Individual and family psychoeducation is an important part of the work we do at Luma Via. This service may be provided directly with the client, or with family members and supports, if the client chooses to involve them. When aligned with the client’s goals, including trusted supports can lead to stronger, more sustainable progress. With the client’s permission, we provide clear, practical education and tools that help both the client and their support system better understand what they are experiencing and how to respond effectively.

Our goal is to reduce confusion, increase empathy, and create a shared understanding so that both clients and their supports feel more confident and less overwhelmed. Through this process, we help build healthier dynamics, clearer boundaries, and more supportive environments that reinforce the client’s growth both inside and outside of sessions.

• understanding mental health diagnoses, symptoms, and how they show up in daily life
• helping families understand what their loved one is experiencing and how to respond effectively
• building emotional awareness and learning how to respond to big feelings without escalation
• improving communication within the family, including listening skills and expressing needs clearly
• setting healthy boundaries while maintaining connection and support
• understanding trauma and how it impacts behavior, reactions, and relationships
• identifying and breaking unhealthy relationship cycles and patterns
• education around anxiety, depression, and mood-related challenges
• understanding addiction, substance use, and patterns of relapse and recovery
• supporting families in responding to avoidance, isolation, or withdrawal
• teaching co-regulation strategies to help de-escalate stressful situations
• parenting strategies tailored to the child’s emotional and behavioral needs
• understanding child and adolescent development and age-appropriate expectations
• managing challenging behaviors in children and teens in a consistent and effective way
• supporting children with anxiety, ADHD, emotional dysregulation, or behavioral concerns
• helping caregivers respond to defiance, shutdowns, or emotional outbursts
• creating structure, routines, and consistency within the home
• navigating school-related challenges, including IEPs, 504 plans, and communication with schools
• building problem-solving skills within the family system
• supporting transitions, stressors, and major life changes as a family
• helping families move from conflict and confusion to clarity and teamwork
• empowering both clients and families with tools they can use outside of sessions

Our Space

A space designed to feel safe
before you even sit down.

We intentionally built something cozy, calm, and judgment-free. Take a look inside our Monona office.

We were built
for exactly this.

Individuals

The person holding it all together — barely.

Anxiety, depression, burnout — you've been managing it alone for too long. You don't need someone to fix you. You need someone who will sit with you, understand what's actually happening, and help you build a path forward that fits your life.

Families

The family stuck in the same patterns, unable to break through.

Everyone wants connection but nobody has the right tools yet. We help families identify the cycles keeping them stuck, build new communication styles that actually fit how they work, and find a shared language that replaces the same argument on repeat.

System Fatigue

The person the system already failed.

You've tried before. You've been labeled, dismissed, or handed off to whoever was available. At Luma Via, you aren't a case number. Every clinician here signed a pledge to listen first and label last — and we mean it.

Youth & Teens

The teenager who stopped going to school.

Avoidance, anxiety, shutdown — it's not defiance, it's a signal. We work with young people and their families together, building the skills and confidence to re-engage with the world at a pace that actually works.

Racialized Stress

The person carrying the weight of racialized stress.

Chronic exposure to racism, microaggressions, and systemic barriers takes a real toll on body and mind. We provide a space where that weight is named, not minimized — and where healing doesn't require you to leave any part of your identity at the door.

Support where life happens.

We don't wait for you in an office. We meet you where you actually live your life — at home, in the community, at school, or wherever makes the most sense for you. Anywhere in Dane County.

At Home

In your own space, where routines actually live

In the Community

Parks, libraries, coffee shops — real life
